Custom flavours manufacturer T Hasegawa USA has announced the acquisition of Mission Flavors & Fragrances in the US.
The acquisition is part of T Hasegawa USA’s strategy to expand its flavour portfolio within the dairy, bakery, plant-based alternatives, fruit-filling and confectionary categories.
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either company.
T Hasegawa USA is the subsidiary of T Hasegawa Co., a Japan-based producer of flavours and fragrances.
Mission Flavors & Fragrances president Patrick Imburgia said: “We couldn’t find a more perfect partner in joining the T Hasegawa USA team in continued growth and expansion within the US marketplace.
“The collaboration of resources, talent and innovation will be a tremendous recipe for success expanding upon our existing capabilities.
“We know that T Hasegawa USA’s leading-edge technology, flavour modulation, reaction and thermal processing will benefit our customers.”
The deal is also expected to enhance T Hasegawa USA’s flavour portfolio across key product categories as well as expand its service and technical capabilities.
T Hasegawa USA CEO Tom Damiano said: “The acquisition of Mission Flavors & Fragrances expands our technical capabilities and overall flavour portfolio so we can better serve our customers.
“We welcome their entire team, which is well known for its customer service excellence and aligns with our customer-centric focus.”
For this deal, The Taffrail Group acted as advisers to T Hasegawa USA while Cody Peak Advisors served as advisers to Mission Flavors & Fragrances.
In February 2019, T Hasegawa USA established organic certification to its Cerritos facility in California under the USDA National Organic Program (NOP).
