On April 13, 2 p.m. EDT, the Food Safety Summit is hosting a virtual pre-summit webinar titled, “How to Effectively Work with Departments in Your Company.” The guest speaker will be Sharon Beals SVP, Food Safety and Quality of CTI Foods with Barbara VanRenterghem, Editorial Director of Food Safety Magazine moderating.

Food Safety Summit officials say the webinar will focus on how to communicate across departments to work together efficiently.

“Since we are all on the same team, why is it so hard to pull in the same direction? As the data-driven people at the table, we can’t understand why others won’t listen when we speak,” summit officials said in an announcement. “Turn the tables and speak in terms that resonate: ROI to the finance team, EQ to the HR team, efficiency to operations and so on. What gets measured gets done; what are the KPIs that resonate across department boundaries and bring different teams together?”

Sharon Beals has 40 years’ experience in food safety. She provides strategic, operational, and technical leadership and support in the critical area of food safety/quality for seven manufacturing facilities, as well as customers and suppliers

Barbara VanRenterghem, in her role as editorial director of Food Safety Magazine, is responsible for overseeing magazine editorial operations; writing editorial content; traveling to and presenting at press events and conferences; and inviting and interviewing guests for podcasts.
