UK-based fresh prepared food producer Bakkavor has announced its plans to create 150 new jobs at its salad processing facility in Bo’ ness, Scotland.
The Bo’ ness facility has been engaged in the production of premium salad and vegetable products, for more than four decades.
Bakkavor plans to recruit people for both temporary and permanent roles, across various shifts.
The Bo’ness factory was operational even during the pandemic to ensure uninterrupted food supply to supermarkets.
Bakkavor Salads Bo’ness operations general manager Kirk Connor said: “The news on 150 new jobs contributes to the economic health of the local community at a critical time.
“Aside from good rates of pay and real opportunities to progress and develop skills, we offer new joiners a range of staff benefits, including a stakeholder pension and life insurance cover, as well as heavily discounted food products from our site staff shop.
“We are delighted to be creating significant employment opportunities at a very challenging time for the local economy and this marks a great opportunity for people to join us as we continue to grow the business.”
Earlier this year, Bakkavor has hired 100 new employees at the site.
In August 2020, Bakkavor announced its plans to shut its salads factory in Alresford, Hampshire.
The company had then noted that it intended to shut the facility after the site losing one of its key customers.
Bakkavor acquired Alresford Salads in 2000.
