UK-based producer of meat alternatives Quorn has announced the registration of its entire vegan range with the Vegan Trademark.
The company noted that the new trademark will increase product credibility and reassure consumers that the products are free from animal ingredients.
The Vegan Trademark will appear on the packaging of Quorn products later this year.
The Vegan Society chief executive George Gill said: “ Quorn’s newly registered vegan products are already being enjoyed by vegans in the UK and abroad, and by clearly labelling them the company makes sure it is widely known that its products are suitable for everyone.
“Providing vegan options makes clear commercial sense for businesses, which can open up their market to a fast growing number of vegans worldwide.”
Quorn’s decision to strengthen its presence in the vegan food market has been influenced by last year’s figures, which showed a 1,500% rise in vegan food sales.

Quorn brand marketing head Alex Glen said: “We have been working very hard over a number of years to develop vegan products that delivered the fantastic taste and texture that Quorn is known for, to vegan consumers, and the Vegan Trademark is the cherry on top.
“The products that we have launched so far are performing well, and we are continuing to develop new vegan products that we can launch into the market.”
According to a research commissioned by the Vegan Society, there are 542,000 vegans in Great Britain.
