Mars confectionery brand M&Ms is set to introduce new Caramel Chocolate Candies in the US market.

The company’s new soft caramel is offered in a candy-coated shell.

A caramel chocolate product is traditionally offered in a square shape, but M&MS is set to give its new product a makeover.

M&MS brand director Tanya Berman said: "Caramel is such a nostalgic and comforting flavour and its popularity is on the rise with pairings like coffees and other speciality foods. We are delighted to now give our fans a chance to experience it through the fun and colourful world of M&MS.

"It took years to develop the technology and machines required to get the delicious soft caramel ingredient into our signature hard candy shell."

M&MS new Caramel Chocolate Candies will be rolled out across all US retailers in 2.83oz and 9.6oz pouches.

The company also plans to launch single packs later this year.
