The new distribution centre will enable Flagship Food Group to expand its manufacturing and distribution capabilities, as well as intends to serve its customers from coast-to-coast from a single point of distribution.
The facility will also feature offices, a research and development centre, as well as a small interactive ‘museum’ that pays tribute to New Mexicos rich food culture.
The nearly $3m expansion is expected to support more than 100 construction jobs, and create 194 new manufacturing and distribution positions.
New Mexico will provide $550,000 for the expansion through a state incentive known as the Local Economic Development Act.
Flagship Food Group CEO Rob Holland said: "We are grateful for the support and business-friendly environment that New Mexico has given us.
"Our new distribution facility in New Mexico will help us better serve our customers and represents another important step in the growth and development of our company."
Expected to be operational by next year, the new facility will be equipped with a modern inventory tracking system, which is currently used in Flagships other warehouse.
Flagship offers its products under 505 Southwestern brands, which are manufactured in New Mexico and certified as a ‘New Mexico True’ product.
