Netherlands-based JIMMY’S has launched its Pure popcorn range in the UK market.
The new range will feature three flavours, including seasalt, sweet, and sweet and salty.
The company claims that each Pure bag contains less than 100 calories and is produced using less sugar and salt than regular popcorn.
JIMMY’S further added that its new popcorn range does not contain aromatic substances, colourings, flavourings or sweeteners.
"Popcorn sales are soaring in the UK market, which can in part be accredited to the shift in consumer habits from traditional, generally spud-based, snacks to ‘good-for-you’ alternatives."
The companys popcorn products are offered at major cinema chains across Europe, and they are reportedly the only popcorn producers in the world to own their own advanced factory, located in Rotterdam.
JIMMY’S UK director Steve said: “Popcorn sales are soaring in the UK market, which can in part be accredited to the shift in consumer habits from traditional, generally spud-based, snacks to ‘good-for-you’ alternatives.
“Certainly within the last few years, popcorn is the snack that has seen most benefit from this shift in consumer buying habits: Kantar Worldpanel data shows us that take-home sales have now passed the £100m mark for the first time."
JIMMY’S Pure popcorn range will be retailed at 89p per bag at WHSmith Travel stores across the UK.
