Orkla Foods Danmark has agreed to sell its K-Salat business to Danish dressings, salads and sausage supplier Stryhns in order to focus on other brands.
Financial terms of the deal have not been divulged by both companies and the transaction is expected to be completed in early December.
Stryhns, which is part of the Norwegian food group Agra AS, has agreed to acquire the complete product portfolio of K-Salat that includes salad spreads, mayonnaise, remoulade, dressings, and potato salads in Denmark.
As part of the sale, Stryhns will also take over a K-Salat factory with around 100 employees in Havnsø, Vestsjælland.
Orkla Foods Danmark CEO Tino Bendix said: “We are glad to be able to sell K-Salat to Stryhns, which has the strong competence necessary to further develop the business.
“From now on, Orkla Foods Danmark will concentrate its core assortment on the well-known brands Beauvais, Den Gamle Fabrik, Glyngøre, Bähncke, FUN, Grønnegården, and Risifrutti.”

K-Salat was established in 1937 under the name Københavns Salatfabrik and the business was later moved to Havnsø.
Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Orkla has been engaged in supplying branded consumer goods and concept solutions to the grocery.
It also has established its presence in bakery markets located in the Nordics, Baltics and selected markets in Central Europe and India.
The company has a current workforce of approximately 18,000 employees.
