Switzerland-based meat and convenience products manufacturer Bell Food has acquired salad processing company Sylvain & Co (Sylvain) through its subsidiary Eisberg.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by either company.
based in Vaud, Switzerland, Sylvain is a family owned business, which specialises in the production of fresh and ready-to-eat salads, vegetables and fruit.
With a workforce of 180 employees, Sylvain has been providing its super-fresh convenience products across Switzerland.
Eisberg intends to retain all the employees and also appointed the former managing director Sylvain Agassis to oversee the company operations.

Eisberg, along with its Swiss company Gastro Star, has already established a strong footprint in the country’s super-fresh sector.
Sylvain will be incorporated into Bell Food retroactively from 1 January 2018.
Headquartered in Dällikon, Switzerland, Eisberg produces fresh convenience salads, vegetables, and fruits.
With a workforce of nearly 1,100 employees, Eisberg operates production plants in Switzerland, Poland, Romania and Hungary that produces approximately 34,000t of fresh convenience products every year and is supplied to its customers located in 12 countries across the globe.
Eisberg intends to further strengthen its position in the market with its new production plant in Austria.
