US-based ingredients supplier BI Nutraceuticals (BI) is partnering with food and nutrition experts Brenntag Canada Inc. to strengthen its reach in Canada. The partnership will allow Brenntag to widen its portfolio to include ingredients that are healthier, natural and on-trend, according to both companies.
The partnership, slated to begin on March 1, 2019, will further solidify BI’s commitment to the Canadian market, strengthening BI’s focus and capabilities in the region.
Brenntag Food & Nutrition, part of the Brenntag Group, provides food ingredients to marketplaces globally. In Canada, it offers supply chain management, logistics services, a high level of product application and coast-to-coast handling assistance.
“Brenntag has long been recognized for supporting suppliers to the Canadian marketplace,” says BI’s Vice President of Marketing, Randy Kreienbrink. “Their sales and marketing team provide technical support and extensive market knowledge to a wide range of major markets, including food and beverage, health and wellness and personal care.”
“BI’s partnership will now allow Brenntag to widen its portfolio to include ingredients that are healthier, natural and on-trend. BI looks forward to a strong and successful relationship with Brenntag and its partners,” Kreienbrink notes.
BI Nutraceuticals sources an array of botanicals from a wide range of geographic locations and has been in business for forty years. In an interview with our sister publication, NutritionInsight, in September 2018, George Pontiakos, President and CEO of BI Nutraceuticals, described the company as “the largest botanical supplier of botanical powders for dietary supplements, food and beverages.”
At the time, he mentioned key geographical markets for the supplier include the US, South America, Eastern Europe and China. You can read more here.
“BI has an extensive product line which perfectly complements our existing portfolio. Our Canadian customers will now have access to a sustainable source of botanicals and innovative plant-based fibers and proteins,” adds Eric Laramée, Industry Manager for Food & Nutrition Canada.
“BI has a leading position in the GMO-free, natural, and organic ingredients market. This combined with Brenntag’s ability to provide market intelligence and solutions will make our customers sense the difference,” he says.
