McCain is launching two new products to their premium product portfolio specifically created for the foodservice industry: Edge Cut Fries and Sweet Potato Cross Trax.
Operators can give their menu the edge with McCain Edge Cut Fries. A 2018 McCain research study found that crispiness, crunchiness and seasoning are the three most important elements of the perfect fry. The shape and seasoning of Edge Cut Fries has been designed to cater for those three elements.
Carefully selected and cut into a superior edge shape to help create the perfect crunch, this unique chip is delicately coated in a signature blend of craft seasoning including paprika, black pepper and onion, providing the ultimate edge on flavour and texture.
McCain is also reinventing the delectable sweet potato with its Sweet Potato Cross Trax. Not only is this product versatile as a stand-alone snack option or paired alongside a main meal, it also gives sandwich-and-chips meals a unique point of difference. The chips are shaped in a criss-cross pattern and coated in a light batter to enhance their crispiness and flavour.
McCain Foodservice Product Manager Alice Briant said, “In 2018, McCain research found that consumers view sweet potatoes as ‘different’, which increases perceived meal value and drives guest satisfaction.” Ms. Briant added, “In that same study, we found that one-in-two consumers would
purchase sweet potato chips if available on the menu, due to the chips’ sweet flavour and perception as a healthier alternative to the traditional potato.”
Make your menu stand out in a crowded market and provide a real point of difference with a fry your customers will remember. Edge Cut Fries are available in Australia and New Zealand and Sweet Potato Cross Trax currently only in Australia. Food service operators can contact McCain or speak to their local McCain representative for more information.
