DuPont has sold its Natural Colors business, which is part of the company’s Nutrition & Biosciences (N&B) segment, to DDW.
The transaction added two manufacturing sites in the UK and Chile, as well as all associated customer contracts to DDW’s The Color House brand.
DuPont originally acquired the business in 2017 as part of its purchase of FMC’s Health & Nutrition business.
Following a strategic review, DuPont concluded that the Natural Colors business would likely deliver greater value as part of a dedicated colours company.
DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences Business president Matthias Heinzel said: “The Natural Colors business offers quality natural colours to a global customer base and is an attractive business with two world-class production sites.
“We are convinced that the Natural Colors business will thrive under DDW’s ownership.”
DDW CEO Ted Nixon said: “This is the perfect opportunity to expand our portfolio with unique new products and deepen our position in blending and emulsions. The associates at both sites are very experienced and will ensure that we can continue to provide outstanding products and services during the transition.”
DuPont N&B division applies expert science to enhance market-driven, healthy and sustainable solutions for the food, beverage, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries.
The division recently launched the Grindsted Gellan VEG 200 solution for vegan and plant-based beverages.
DDW is a global privately held firm specialising in natural colour solutions for the food and beverage industry. The company operates from 13 locations on five continents.
