ITC Foods has launched Fabelle Exquisite chocolate bars in six flavours recently. Across the top six cities in India, including Mumbai and Bengaluru, 600 such bars were handcrafted by Fabelle Master Chocolatiers in a larger-than-life 73kg chocolate installation to commemorate the 73rd Independence Day.
These chocolate bars will be unveiled on August 15, and will be available for sale until August 18, 2019 in the Chocolate Boutique at ITC Maratha, and also in the Chocolate Boutique at ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. The chocolate bar installation will also be displayed at V R Mall, Bengaluru, in the form of a chocolate installation.
The company identified ingredients from across the country, and pairing them with white, milk, dark and ruby chocolate, in order to develop these chocolates.
For this, Fabelle divided the country into six zones, viz. the Northern Himalayan Region, the Thar Desert, the Indo-Gangetic Plains, the Central Plains, the Deccan Plateau and the Coastal Regions, and created six chocolate bars, each representing the flavours of a region.
For instance, the Northern Himalayan Region was crafted using Dark Chocolate smoked with Tea and Pink Himalayan Salt. The Thar Desert contains Ruby Chocolate with Toasted Sesame, Salted Peanuts and Toasted Amaranth. The Gangetic Plains has Milk Chocolate with Jaggery Powder and Crunchy Puffed Rice.
The Central Plains contains Dark Chocolate with Candied Orange Peel blended with Raisins. The Deccan Plateau was prepared using White Chocolate with Coffee and Cardamom Powder effusion. The Coastal Regions had Milk Chocolate with Desiccated Coconut Powder and Candied Mango.
Each chocolate bar is priced at Rs 265, and Fabelle Chocolates will be donating the proceeds from the sale of these bars to Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, a non-profit organisation, which works towards supporting deserving children to lead a richer life by fulfilling their wishes.
According to Anuj Rustagi, chief operating officer, chocolates, coffee and new categories, Food Division, ITC Limited, “As we observe this historic celebration of Independence Day year-on-year, this time, our team, with months of preparation and trials, arrived at the most unique combinations of ingredients from six regions in these six chocolate bars to re-imagine India in chocolate.”
Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted over 334,000 wishes worldwide to some deserving children. It is a great initiative from Fabelle Chocolates, as children love chocolates.
“Last year Fabelle and Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfilled the wishes of 40 kids of their educational requirements, and this year, with the proceeds raised from our association with Fabelle, we are hopeful to fulfill several more precious wishes for kids this year, as we celebrate the 73rd Independence Day,” said Deepak Bhatia of Make-A-Wish Foundation.
