The fortification of the snack food and confectionery market continues as more major players align their portfolios with health-conscious consumers, and now Nestlé has unveiled the result of its development efforts for some of its most popular chocolate bars in the UK.

Developed at its Global R&D Centre for Confectionery in York, the new Kitkat Chunky MORE and Yorkie MORE come in two new flavours – Raspberry & hazelnut and Oats, Apple & Cinnamon respectively.

As well as boasting new flavours, both bars contain 30% less sugar, contains real fruit and boast a source of protein, while the Yorkie MORE bar is also a source of fibre.

“Whether it is fruit, nuts or oats; the fibre or protein they provide; this range really does offer more and is our next generation of chocolate bars with 30% less sugar. Most importantly, both of them taste fantastic,” said Alex Gonnella, Marketing Director for Nestlé Confectionery in the UK & Ireland.

The KitKat Chunky MORE will go on sale from next week while the Yorkie MORE will follow before the end of the year.
