Switzerland-based meat processor Bell Food Group has decided to divest two facilities in Perbál, Hungary, and Saint-André, France.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the company.
Bell Food said that the sale of its low strategic value facilities is in line with its international charcuterie business restructuring strategy.
The company further added that the new owners have agreed to absorb all the employees working at the facilities.
Bell Food’s Perbál charcuterie facility is expected to be sold to the Hungarian company Spar on 31 October.
With nearly 200 employees, the facility is said to have generated €20m in sales revenue each year.
By acquiring the facility, Spar Hungary intends to enhance its production capacity and secure the jobs in the region. Completion of the deal is subject to the approval of the national competition authorities.
