Danish emulsifier producer Palsgaard is planning to expand its production capacity with an investment of kr750m (€100m) at its facility in Denmark by 2024.
The investment will see the creation of a spray cooling tower to increase the company’s spray capacity by an additional 30,000t.
The tower is slated to become operational by the first quarter of 2023.
Palsgaard CEO Jakob Thøisen said: “This project is another major milestone in our development. By 2024 we will be able to double our current production capacity – something which took over a century to reach. It is the result of a decade of significant global growth for our business.”
Additionally, the investment will be used for the construction of reaction, distillation, and esterification plants.
Recently, Palsgaard installed and commissioned a 10,000t emulsifier pellet line.
The company claims that its emulsifiers help bakery, confectionery, condiments, dairy, ice cream, margarine and meat producers in improving the quality, as well as extend the shelf-life of their products.
