Australia’s Elliott Agribusiness is all set to accelerate exports of lamb and beef and hire up to 12 people over the next three years.
The move follows after the company received a grant from Queensland’s $175m Jobs and Regional Growth Fund.
Queensland State Development Minister Kate Jones said: “We are facing one of the most difficult times in our State’s history. But we know that to create jobs and rebuild Queensland’s economy, we must invest in projects like this in regional Queensland.
“Elliott Agribusiness has been a proud family-owned Queensland agribusiness for 20 years in South West Queensland.”
based in Roma, Queensland, Elliott Agribusiness is a livestock producer and meat processor that has been supplying its processed lamb and beef products to the retailers across the state.
The financial assistance from the government will also help Elliott Agribusiness to retain its existing staff.
With this grant, the company intends to refurbish the chilling and secondary processing facilities at its food processing plant in Roma. It will also enable the company to increase its meat processing capacity and perform contract processing for local livestock producers.
