US-based establishment Mr Wok Foods is recalling nearly 200,000lb of meat and poultry products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Mr Wok Foods products recalled could contain known allergens including milk, wheat, soy, peanuts or oysters.
Additionally, the food regulatory authority noted that the products may also contain MSG, sesame products or sulfites not declared on the product labels.
Products subject to recall include 6.25lb cases containing 100 pieces of ‘Chicken Meatballs Buffalo’.
The recall also includes 10lb cases containing ‘Tempura Fried Chicken Nuggets’ ‘Tempura Fried Chicken Nuggets Premium’ And ‘Tempura Fried Pork Nuggets’.
Other products include 10lb cases containing ‘Curry Chicken’, ‘Pork With Mushroom Shui Mai’, ‘Eastern Style Chicken’, ‘Kung Pao Chicken’, ‘Sweet & Chilli Sauce Chicken Meatball’, ‘Chicken Wings’ ‘Chicken Nugget & Orange Sauce Packet’ and 10lb Packages Containing ‘Pork Sliced’.
FSIS said that 20lb cases containing ‘Tempura Fried Pork Nuggets’, ‘Pork With Moo Ping Flavor Trimmed And Precut’, ‘Beef Sliced For Stir Fry’, ‘Elated Plates Chicken Fajita Strips Seasoned’, ‘Elated Plates Beef Fajita Strips Seasoned’ ‘Chicken Breast Sliced For Stir Fry’, ‘Chicken Breast Sliced For Stir Fry (Mongolian)’ ‘Chicken Thigh Meat With Satay Flavor’ and ‘BBQ Pork Sliced’ are also being recalled.
Additionally, the company is recalling 40lb cases containing ‘Pork with Bulgogi Sauce (Spicy)’, ‘Chicken Sliced’ and approximately 10lb Of ‘Chicken Thigh Meat with Satay Sauce Skewer’, 15lb Of ‘Shui Mai Chicken with Mushroom’.
The frozen meat and poultry items that are subject to recall were produced from 6 August 2019 through 6 August 2020 and distributed for institutional use in vending machines and restaurants nationwide.
FSIS identified the issue during routine label reviews.
So far, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions as a result of the consumption of these products.
In May, Nestle Prepared Foods recalled nearly 29,002lb of chicken products labelled as Lean Cuisine Fettuccini Alfredo due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
