Coca-Cola has made its first foray into food, partnering to bring ice cream to market based on its Fairlife milk.
Fairlife Light Ice Cream, made with Fairlife’s ultrafiltered milk, has been rolled out in seleced retail stores including Albertsons, Hy-Vee, Safeway, Walmart and more.
Coca-Cola is producing the ice cream in a joint venture with Boardwalk Frozen Treats. It will be available in seven flavors, with a suggested retail price of $4.98 per 14-oz. container.
“Our light ice cream has either a third the calories, or half the fat, of traditional ice cream, or in some cases both,” Fairlife CEO Tim Doelman said in a statement. “We hope to change the perception that frozen treats with improved nutritional profiles dont taste as good as traditional ice cream, especially for the 76% of consumers who make an effort to eat healthy.”
Coca-Cola upped its stake in Fairlife from 42.5% to 100% at the beginning of this year.
