Nestlé USA is beginning a $100 million expansion of its plant in Jonesboro, Ark., to expand production of Hot Pockets, according to local media.
The company told Arkansas Business it will begin construction in January to add 90,000 sq. ft. and another line to the plant. The company also will hire at least 100 new employees over the next two years. The factorys manager noted consumers have rediscovered convenient frozen foods and eating at home.
Nestlé USA opened the Jonesboro plant in 2002, Arkansas Business reported. It has about 750 full-time employees who produce frozen foods for the companys Stouffers, Lean Cuisine, DiGiorno, Tombstone and Sweet Earth brands.
