Unilever has agreed to purchase US food supplement brand onnit to boost its health and wellness product portfolio.
based in Austin, Texas, onnit is engaged in the production of supplements that aim to improve cognitive function, mood, relaxation, gut health, and support immunity.
Its portfolio includes fats and oils, coffee and tea, protein powders and snacks.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by the companies.

“With its holistic health offering and digital-first model, onnit perfectly complements our growing portfolio of innovative wellness and supplement brands that include OLLY, Equilibra, Liquid IV, and SmartyPants Vitamins.”
According to the agreement, onnit will continue its operations from Austin.

onnit will continue to be led by its current CEO Jason Havey and its founder Aubrey Marcus will remain its brand ambassador.
Marcus said: “Since day one, my vision has been for onnit to become a global movement, empowering people with the tools and information to reach their highest physical and mental potential.
“I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and now, with Unilever’s scale and presence, we are one step closer to inspiring millions more to take charge of their health and wellbeing.”
