Two products: hamburger buns and soda crackers, have been recalled for undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with either one of these recalls. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the FDA web site.

The first recall is for May Flower International, recalling “3+2 Soda Crackers.” The product is sold in 4.4 ounce packages. The crackers were distributed nationwide in retail stores. The product comes in a yellow plastic package and is uncoded.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of undeclared milk allergens. The product does not declare a milk ingredient on the label.

The second recall is for United States Bakery Naked Bread Hamburger Buns. That product is fresh and sold in the bread aisle at retail stores. It was distributed directly to consumers in Northern California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington between June 2, 2018 and July 2, 2018.

The Naked Bread Hamburger Buns were packaged in low density polyethylene bags and identified as “Naked Bread Hamburger Buns #NothingToHide.” The product comes in a 16.5 ounce, 8 pack size. The UPC number on the product is 72220 11075, and the affected lot codes are F6 Best By June 16th, 2018 through July 16th 2018.

If you bought either of these products and are allergic to milk, or can’t eat milk because you are lactose intolerant, discard them. You can also take the products back to the store wher you purchased them for a full refund.
