US-based food processor and distributor Seneca Foods has completed the acquisition of Paradise’s candied fruit division.
Paradise’s candied fruit products are distributed to manufacturing bakers, institutions and retailers for use in home baking.
Seneca Foods president and CEO Kraig Kayser said: “Paradise has a long history of providing high-quality candied fruit products to their customers. We are very excited about this acquisition and the extension of product offerings it brings to our company.
“This business segment will be a complementary fit within our maraschino business at our wholly owned subsidiary Gray & Company.”
In April, Paradise entered a definitive agreement to sell all assets associated with the production, manufacture, sale and distribution of glacé fruit products to a subsidiary of Seneca Foods.
The divestiture is part of the company’s plan to sell all of its assets. The transaction was unanimously approved by its board of directors.
Paradise president and CEO Randy Gordon said: “We are pleased and excited that Seneca Foods has acquired our candied fruit division.
“With Seneca’s vast network and expertise, we are certain they will be able to improve our business growth as Paradise continues to be the nation’s leader in our business category.”
