To expand its offering beyond carmine and anthocyanins, Chr. Hansen has developed new colour additive solutions to meet the demand for intense red and pink shades.
The new SweetColor Pink 1144 WSP and SweetColor Red 1344 WSP retain their intense colour properties, even for neutral pH panning, thereby easing the panning process for confectionery manufacturers, as well as providing a vegetable based colourant that meets consumer demands for vegetarian, kosher and halal products.
Jakob Rasmussen, director, global marketing for the Chr. Hansens natural colour division, says, "Our new SweetColor Pink and SweetColor Red are intense, bright shades that offer a cost competitive alternative to carmine, as well as other fruit and vegetable based solutions. In this way, we are able to help our customers meet consumer demands for naturalness in a cost effective and easy to apply colour solution."
