UK-based desserts manufacturer Ministry of Cake has been acquired by French company Mademoiselle Desserts.
Financial details of the deal have not been revealed by either company.
Ministry of Cake managing director Chris Ormrod said: “This deal secures jobs and investment in a company firmly rooted in the west country.
"Our employees also now have an exciting career path, as they will have options to work elsewher in the European business.”

Ministry of Cake has two production facilities in Taunton and Torquay, which produces around three million slices of cake a week.
The company has a workforce of nearly 400 people and an annual turnover of £30m.
Mademoiselle Desserts CEO Didier Boudy said: “Ministry of Cake is a perfect addition to our group. Combined with our two sites in the UK, The Handmade Cake Company in Maidenhead and Mademoiselle Desserts Corby, we have now an unrivalled state-of-the-art production capability dedicated to our foodservice customers.”
Mademoiselle Desserts owns eight production facilities in France, the UK and the Netherlands, and employs more than 1,400 employees.
